Sebastian Nevols Creates Key Art and Trailers for Royal Ballet & Opera House’s Upcoming Season

Over the past two years, Sebastian has worked with the Royal Ballet & Opera House, initially producing stills and trailers for individual productions. This year, he took on the ambitious task of creating visuals for all upcoming season productions, covering 10 campaigns in just one month.

He assembled a talented team to craft a cohesive visual language while celebrating each production’s unique identity. Check out some behind-the-scenes moments, showcasing the dedication and artistry that bring these productions to life.

La Cage

Sebastian was commissioned by Netflix to shoot the key art for La Cage, directed by Franck Gastambide. The series follows a young fighter aiming to go pro, starring Melvin Boomer, Jon Jones, and Georges Saint-Pierre. Premiering on Netflix November 8, 2024.

ITV – Big Brother Sees It All

Sebastian was commissioned by ITV to shoot the campaign for Big Brother’s relaunch, focusing on macro shots and motion pieces that highlight the diverse expressions in people’s eyes.

This project evoked memories of his early days assisting Tim Flach, where he honed his macro photography skills on animal eyes.

The Doll Factory

Sebastian was commissioned by Paramount Plus to create the key art and portraits for The Doll Factory: a series adaptation of the bestselling novel written by Elizabeth Macneal.

This shoot took place at the series’ filming location in Dublin, which enabled Sebastian to capture the series’ atmosphere in his work. While creating the image, he worked closely with retoucher, Karl at One White Chair, to ensure the composition followed true optics, achieving a balanced and nuanced look.

Dr. Strangelove

Sebastian Nevols shot the key art for the theatre adaptation of Dr. Strangelove, starring Steve Coogan in the first-ever stage version of Stanley Kubrick’s dark comedy. Co-adapted by Armando Iannucci and directed by Sean Foley, the production retains Kubrick’s sharp humour and unnerving tone.

Influenced by Kubrick’s visual style, Sebastian studied his archives to create an image that honours his legacy while offering a fresh perspective.
