Lyme Splash by Tom Farmer

This summer Tom dipped his toe into the frenetic world of outdoor water polo, set against the beautiful backdrop of Lyme Regis harbour, famously known as The Cobb. Teams from all over the country competed against each other in intense 10-minute matches, displaying strength, agility, and power, in what can definitely be described as a contact sport.

Using the notorious ‘egg-beater’ kick to propel themselves out of the water and changing direction at a moment’s notice, water polo is a highly physical and demanding sport and has frequently been cited as one of the most difficult to play. It all makes for a great atmosphere for both players and spectators, and a thriving community based on mutual respect and admiration
