Toxic Town by Sebastian Nevols
Sebastian Nevols shot the key art for Toxic Town, a Netflix series about the tragic toxic waste case in Corby and the three mothers who fought for justice. The investigation revealed that the rate of upper limb defects in babies born in Corby was three times higher than the national average — a devastating consequence of the town’s industrial past.
Having spent part of his childhood near Corby, Sebastian later learned that his grandfather had moved from Glasgow to work in the town’s steel mill, which had recruited a large Scottish workforce. The series delves into the history of that mill and the long battle for justice that followed its closure — a harrowing but important story about the lasting impact of industry on a community.
Special thanks to Netflix for the opportunity to work on this powerful project, the incredible cast, and the talented team.
