Sam Barker: Integrating AI with Live Action.

Sam Barker teamed up VFX studio Little Shadow so that we could create a proof of concept on how we can integrate AI with live action.

We decided to make two test case films in a day in a green screen studio using a system developed to seamlessly blend live-action motion with AI and minimal CGI. The goal? To combine the artistry of traditional filmmaking with cutting-edge tech – maximising AI’s potential while solving current challenges like human realism and continuity.

Firstly we created “Desert” as we wanted to create a film in a hard to reach destination no where near London.

We have now started using this system in the commercial market as it allows us to shoot (from a Green Screen studio) multiple locations with creative freedom with an AI generated pre vis system so the client can see a live feed of the generated location and the action happening in it. These backgrounds are now photorealistic and can be as exotic or as everyday as the brief requires.

The result is a fast, efficient solution, perfect for clients working on tight budgets and deadlines, multi-market campaigns, or looking for something bold and innovative.
