MP Olivia Blake by Felicity Crawshaw

Women now make up over 40% of Members of Parliament – the highest level of representation in British parliamentary history. To mark this milestone, women photographers from across the UK came together to photograph the women shaping Parliament today for the 40% Project, led by the Royal Photographic Society.

Felicity photographed her local MP, Olivia Blake, the Labour MP for Sheffield Hallam. Bold, compassionate and grounded in activism, Olivia works to protect the environment, and fight for social justice on behalf of her constituents.

Sheffield Hallam is a constituency of striking contrasts, where the urban environment transforms into a rural landscape stretching west into the Peak District National Park. The city opens onto rugged moorland and the dramatic rocky outcrops that became the backdrop for photographing Olivia.
