Jeremy Renner by Sebastian Nevols
Sebastian Nevols was commissioned by The Guardian to photograph Jeremy Renner, a portrait commission reflecting on the accident that nearly took his life, and everything that’s followed since.
Wanting to reflect that emotional weight without being overt, Sebastian developed a quiet visual concept with the team at The Guardian: freezing a print and re-photographing it. A way to evoke stillness and fragility with restraint.
He also shot a series of portraits on the day. Renner carried both vulnerability and strength — the sense of someone not quite at the end of recovery, but undeniably moving forward.
