Kate was commissioned by ESPN to photograph the cricket bat making process.

The willow trees are grown for 20 or so years before they are ready to start the bat-making process. You can make approximately 40 bats per tree. Every year, J.S. Wright & Sons whom are based in Great Lees, plant 25,000 new trees and fell about 8,000.
