April Newsletter – Shooting Alongside TVC
Some of our favourite work happens alongside TVC productions.
This type of shoot calls for a particular way of working: calm under pressure, collaborative, with a clear point of view. Whether embedded in the main unit or running lean alongside it, our photographers build images that stand on their own – considered, characterful, and alive. See some recent examples ↓
AMEX by Tom Farmer
A fast paced, multi location campaign for American Express, moving from chip shops and cafés to gigs and airport lounges without missing a beat.
Production Company: Iconoclast / Director of TVC: Amara Abbas
NHS Vaccinations by Hannah Maule-ffinch
A fast paced shoot across multiple locations with a large cast (including children!), all squeezed into a short window. Hannah somehow kept everything moving and still captured genuinely joyful, chaotic, brilliant moments throughout.
Production Company: You Are Here / Director of TVC: Jonas McQuiggin
Tell DWP by Kelvin Murray
A true hybrid production: stills and motion, studio, location and a volume screen, all wrapped in a single day. CRXSS sourced a pool for the non-TVC shot, Kelvin captured the KV, then jumped straight into the MindsEye schedule.
Production Company: MindsEye / Director of TVC: Jim Archer
Andy Murray for Albert Bartlett by Will Cornelius
A playful serve from Andy Murray for Albert Bartlett — swapping tennis balls for potatoes in a sharp, tongue-in-cheek campaign shot by Will.
Production Company: The Gate / Director of TVC: Simon Neal
End Violence Against Women and Girls by Sam Barker
This campaign aims to highlight and help halve violence against women by addressing and stopping abusive gateway behaviours by men before they escalate into physical violence.
Production Company: The Corner Shop / Director of TVC: Emma Branderhorst
Suzuki by Kelvin Murray
This campaign wasn’t shot alongside a TVC in the traditional sense where we piggy back on the production laid out by the Director’s Production company. What we love about it is that the agency persuaded their client to shoot four key visuals in support of the TVC.
The underlying concept between TVC and OOH Print campaign remained the same, underpinned by the tag line “Finally, The EV You’ve Been Looking For”.
Production Company: CRXSS
If you’re planning a shoot and want stills that do more than follow the TVC, get in touch. We would love to talk!
